Halloween Edition
Edit: I do apologize for the extended delay on these! I may catch up one day...
Thank goodness for Netflix because otherwise we would have completely missed all of our Halloween traditions, but not solely due to being in a new country. We didn't have time to shop for decorations as we had only been here a short time and there was no point in dressing up since the whole country is in lock-down so we snuggled up on the couch and watched some classic Halloween films. Michael had told me that the Czech Republic doesn't celebrate Halloween, but I actually found that to not be true. They have definitely incorporated this holiday into their culture. Grocery store ads were highlighting Halloween candy and decorations, our neighbors put pumpkins and various gourds in their entryway and Halloween movies were available to stream on Netflix-CZ.
In addition to briefly capturing this holiday as we continued to get set-up in our apartment, we took the beautiful week to get out and see some outdoor sights. The temperatures were a lovely 50 degrees all week and the sun was constantly shining with the exception of one foggy morning.
Spielberg Castle
Brno has its very own castle and the grounds are open to the public. The photos below capture this impressive complex. When the pandemic has passed we will be sure to book a tour of the inside!
